This separate package opens the community map inside Discord. Upload it to an HTTPS website, register a Discord application, and connect the two. Members use the map’s filters and heatmap directly in the Activity.
1. Create your Discord application
Open the Discord Developer Portal, create an application, and name it ARC Community Map. Copy its public Application ID.
2. Add your public settings
Enter the Application ID and the HTTPS folder where you’ll host this package. Download the settings file, replace activity-config.json in the package, and upload all files together.
3. Connect the Activity
In the Developer Portal, open Activities → Settings and enable Activities. Open Activities → URL Mappings and add the two mappings shown here.
4. Launch it in your channel
Keep Discord’s default Launch entry command. Choose your installation contexts in the Portal and use its install link to add the app. In a text or voice channel, open the App Launcher and select your Activity. For initial testing, enable Discord Developer Mode and use an account that owns the application or is on its development team.
Discord’s development and distribution settings control who can launch an unverified Activity. Complete the Portal’s testing, installation, and distribution requirements before sharing it with the whole community.
This read-only map does not need a bot token, client secret, identity sign-in, or application server. Filters are individual to each viewer. Its data loads when the Activity opens; there is no refresh timer.
Activity URL mappings
These are settings to enter in Discord, not URLs to paste into a channel.
| Prefix | Target |
|---|---|
/ | Enter your HTTPS folder address |
/sheets | docs.google.com |
The file saves your public Application ID and hosting address. Edit it directly or use this form again after uploading it. The hosting address helps generate the mappings; enter those mappings in Discord separately. Keep all package folders together.
Before inviting members
- Confirm the real Activity launches in Discord and connects to the community Sheet.
- Check blueprint selection, map floors, pins, and the heatmap.
- Enable iOS and Android support in Activities settings if you want mobile access, and check it on those clients.
- Reload or relaunch after changing settings. Google publication caching can delay newly submitted data.
